Currently a team from the University of California, Los Angeles, is studying the use of VR to treat anhedonia, a symptom of depression that creates an inability to experience pleasure or interest in a range of activities. The team is focused on providing patients with positive experiences, such as those produced by VR, and meditation in order to treat anhedonia and increase well-being. According to a study published earlier this year in the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, people who participated in the positive experience treatment reported lower levels of depression, anxiety and stress than those who participated in standard treatment, which focuses on addressing negative symptoms.

I would be interested in trying this to see if it would help my levels of depression and stress. Sounds interesting, but I wonder how it works if you mentally know that it is all just Virtual Reality and not Reality??

Can putting on a set of Virtual Reality (VR) goggles and being taken to a peaceful place or experiencing one of your dreams help depression and other mental health issues? Recent studies have shown that VR can help people deal with mental health issues , such as depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and symptoms such as hopelessness, isolation, and sadness.
Have you ever heard of VR being used to treat mental health conditions? Have you ever tried virtual reality? Would you be interested in trying it?
