My hearing loss started around age 49. My dad had hearing loss as well. I don't know if it is inherited from him. I swam a lot in lakes as a kid and often would have swimmers ear. I am now at 20% hearing left in both ears. I am thankful to have hearing aides.

Hi @gypsy4859!
Thank you for sharing your story?
What hearing aids do you use? My grandmother has hearing problems and wears a hearing aid but she does not like it. She says her ear gets tired and that sometimes she hears a strange loud high-pitched noise for a moment. Have you ever had any of that? Thank you

Hello everyone!
I hope you are feeling good today!
I wanted to start this discussion to talk about different hearing impairment stores. If a person's hearing abilities fall below those of someone with normal hearing, which is defined as having hearing thresholds of 20 dB or higher in both ears, they are said to have hearing loss. It can affect one or both ears, be mild, moderate, fairly severe, severe, or profound.

What type of hearing impairment do you have? Were you born with it or did it appear during your life? What was it like to lose hearing (partially or fully)?
Take care,
Polina from the Carenity team
