I think our society can't deal with "gross" topics- we are taught at a young age to not talk about poop or "bathroom" topics. It leaves an unpleasant image in our heads. But if everyone talked about it, then we would all benefit from improved care and available bathrooms!

Hello everyone! How are you feeling today? 😉
I wanted to start this discussion to talk about the taboo of IBD. Some terminology and subjects some people would rather not discuss include flatulence, constipation, and digestive issues. However, digestion is a very complicated process since it breaks down the food we eat into a variety of components so that they can enter our body's metabolism through the blood and lymphatic systems. Living with Crohn's disease can feel lonely simply because people would rather not hear about it.

Why do you think there is this taboo of gastric disease? Do you feel comfortable talking about your condition? Why do you think it is important to raise awareness about Crohn's disease?
Take care,
Polina from the Carenity team
