@Kristiv the allergy shot increased or exacerbated your MS symptoms? This may sound "dumb," but what does an allergy consist of?

Yeah I have no idea. I know the allergy shot lowers the immune system and the T cells attack each other. With that being said I should of done the research before I got it and not after. I just put too much faith in the doctor to know more than I do about my care. Bad mistake, he should of had me check with my ms doctor before they gave it to me. Lesson learned.

Do not blame yourself... you would think a doctor would know... we trust them with our care. I have a friend who put her faith in her doctor and saw three other specialists. Put her faith in the doctor that was the most confident and came out of surgery with 1/2 of her bone cut off by mistake and the doctor did not mention anything! found out years later.
Was this shot from your PCP?

That is horrible for your friend. I actually went to an allergy doctor and I did all the allergy testing and they made the shot for me and injected it. They make the shots for each individual according to what you are allergic to. You would think they would call a patient after their first shot to check on them but they don’t. When I called days later telling them I won’t be back for another one because of how sick it made me they said ok I’ll leave a note. They never did call me to check on me. It’s so disheartening.

I'm glad i am seeing this because i was wanting to schedule and allergy appointment and possibly getting shots (I'm allergic to pollen and dander) and i feel it's getting worse! Anyway, now I'll be more mindful about whether or not the shot is best for me.

The end result is this, you are you're own best advocate, I've dealt with allergies for years. I've received allergy shots for several years but have had a reaction like you'rs. I can say that since my testing , I have found medications and treatments that I'm allergic to. A coupleof those were psychiatric meds, so watch you're reactions to any new medications. Since there are always new medications It's important that you keep you're pharmasists and doctors in the loop.

So I have horrible allergies and proceeded to get allergy testing and of course I’m allergic to everything outside. I went and got my first allergy shot and became very ill. It felt like I had the flu. It has been one week tomorrow I got the shot and finally feeling human again. Has anyone else had this experience? Why wouldn’t the allergy dr bring up my ms?! I forgot for a minute you can’t count on drs to look out for you.
