@whatistheissue it didn't complete stop working it was dwindling down til I was gradually feeling the signs and symptoms of schizophrenia but my other psych meds are still working but my psychiatrist wants to gradually change them to because they have got me on two anti-anxiety meds one is Gabapentin which is for social anxiety and I have general anxiety mine is caused by life in general and schizophrenia. The lamotrigine is also for anxiety and I think it's for general anxiety but I don't know. I ask her if she could put me on Klonopin like I was on before but iti seem like it worked better for me and take me off the lamotrigine and keep me on Klonopin
Sorry I write in riddles and rhymes im still having some disorganized thinking and word salad

@Docholiday31 I hope the medications continue to work for you.
I do not have schizophrenia, so I am not to knowledgeable about how meds and symptoms work.. but do the meds completely take away the symptoms of schizophrenia? Is there anything you can do outside of medication to help deal with the symptoms if the meds start dwindling in how well it is working until you can get a new med?
I know for depression, the medicines never, for me, take away the symptoms of depression completely... the symptoms no matter what are still there. I am on lexapro now but I am wanting to switch to a new med that has more of a stimulant factor than the "tired" effect that lexapro has and I feel the effectiveness of lexapro is not as good as it used to be... but I cannot get in to see my doctor until the end of March!

The psychiatrist took me off of trifluoperazine and reach back and put me on haldol which I have taken before but it quit working but reintroducing it in my body systems again makes my body and brain think it's a new medication which can work for awhile until my brain out smarts it and then it's back to upping the dosage until the desired outcome.
