Hi @Verycansada
How are you doing today?
It is always challenging when your condition puts your body on a different rhythm from the rest of the world. It is great that your family is supportive. Let me tag a few other Carenity members who may be able to share some of their experiences and can possibly give you some tips for making it through the day.

Let's share!
Take care,
Lizzi from the Carenity team

HELLO EVERYONE, I have not been feeling so good lately. I have no energy and I am in bed 80% of the time. I look at dish tv and enjoy my movies. It usually gets my mind off the pain. I can not sit for long periods of time. I do my best and I have not seen my son for 3 years. He is due to come here with his 3 children(never met) little people under the age of 7yrs. I am looking forward to be with them. I never thought, I would be someone's grandmother. Pray for me and keep me posted on current events.
Always Michele aka Mickey

Your story is so touching. I understand this is your reality and it breaks my heart to know that other people are going through such trauma. I truly hope your family visit it's wonderful. May peace and the Force be with you.

I haven't been offered medication to help with staying awake as of yet. However, in my current situation, I probably sleep 16-20 hours out of a 24-hour period. I am, and have been, in a constant state of flare since before Christmas. I have been unable to work for over a year now.

I have lots of exhaustion and sleepiness too. It took me a bit and some healing to be able to tell the difference between sleepy and exhausted. My circadian rhythms are totally messed up and I can not fix it. So I am up all night and sleep most of the day, but the exact hours vary from day to day because one day I will sleep 12 hours and the next only 6. I miss the sun! I can no longer work full time either. I can barely work part-time, and I never quite know when I will be awake. It's driving me nuts.

I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea in 2019. Last October (2023) I was diagnosed as having Narcolepsy. Also the the sleepiness and fatigue are a result of my sleep apnea. I was put on Narcolepsy medication and it has helped wonders. I take it with my breakfast and it really helps. There are times I need to take a nap but it is not as frequent anymore.

Because I need to take a nap every other day, I can only work part-time in the afternoons. My family finds it to be effective, although having energy and being awake would be excellent. I really didn't want to take the medications they gave me to stay awake. Did the meds help you? How to manage?
