I have done 2 sleep studies. 1 in a lab and 1 at home. Don’t wait around to get one done. They’re very easy to do now with the at home study. You don’t have to be hooked up to hundreds of wires anymore to do it.

I also did two. One at home with just a pulse oxymeter tied to my hand and the other at a sleep center. Couldn't get to sleep with all the wires, strange noises and different bed at the center. Best part of it was breakfast at one of my favorite places.

I also ended up doing two - one at a a sleep center and one at home. It was the same thing for me, I think the "stress" of all the wires and noises around and not being in my own bed made it too hard for me to sleep so the results weren't conclusive. They had me do a "take home" version and it was so much easier.

I have done four sleep studies and plan to do one at the VA, since I have shifted my healthcare to them. Each time, I have manifested several instances of apnea. I use a CPAP and it seems to do the trick.

I did a facility based sleep study. So glad I had it done too. It was very informative & helped me get diagnosed with severe sleep apnea. Now I have a CPAP machine & I get a very good night's sleep!

Hello everyone,
How are you doing?
I thought I would open a discussion today about one of the tools used to diagnose sleep apnea: a polysomnogram, also known as a sleep study!
Have you ever done a sleep study? Did you do it at home or at a sleep lab? What was the experience like? Were the results conclusive? Is there any advice or tips you'd like to share with others who haven't yet done a sleep study?
