Unknown diagnosed inflammation in the colon to progress into sores and then to rupture as ulcers and start bleeding internally? As in
she didn’t know she had anything wrong the inflammation started and left untreated what’s the time it takes to become severe UC with ulcers throughout the entire colon?
And is it possible that the stress and trauma to my other body parts from the car accident could’ve caused the ulcers and rapid spread of the ulcers and colitis? Please help me

@UCspouse I am so sorry to hear about that about your spouse. I have never heard of ulcerative colitis being caused spontaneously from some trauma. But, anything that could cause sever internal inflammation and sores to develop in the lining of the intestines could cause it. I am not a doctor, but inflammation for UC is often caused by some internal inflammtion - like our bodies attacking itself - but not because of a physical trauma. However, physical trauma can cause inflammation, so I would guess it is probably.
I have a friend who had many surgeries and pain in the surgical joints, but had no autoimmune diseases; however, his blood test showed that he had high C-reactive proteins which is an indicator of inflammation.

@UCspouse What did the doctor who diagnosed your wife with severe UC say? Your wife had no symptoms of abdominal pain, urgency, diarrhea, cramping? It all began after the accident right?
I would be interested in learning what the doctor said.

@UCspouse Ulcerative Colitis in its sense is sores. It is the inflammation which once severe causes the sores.
As far as the time frame, I am not sure, but there are a few different types of ulcerative colitis and the severity differs in each person, as well. However, I have heard of people being diagnosed with ulcerative colitis and the symptoms almost began overnight.
Was your wife cut or did she bang her stomach / sides against something? I admit I have never heard of such an accident causing UC, but it does not seem impossible. The reason I ask is because as I think @livenlaugh was leading to is that the inflammation is usually caused when your immune system thinks that the good cells and bacteria in your gut are "bad" and begins to attack them, spiraling inflammation out of control.
If the doctor cannot answer your questions, try finding one who specializes in UC or if he/she does, getting a second opinion.

my wife was rear ended at a red light by a drunk driver that didn’t even hit their brakes! Her car stopped the other drivers car!!
later that night she felt muscle body pain as expected in any collision but she also started feeling horrible pain in her GI tract gas diarrhea cramping she just thought it was just cramps from her period and possible an upset stomach due to the stress and trauma of the night and maybe she ate something we thought she went to the e.r. And they barely examined her and sent her home with soft tissue damage. But it got worse the next day sonshe made an appt with her pcp and found out she was severely anemic (iron) got a referral for her first ever Gastroentrologist appt blood tests stool samples more blood test endoscopy, colonoscopy and with absolutely no history or preexisting condition was diagnosed with SEVERE UC and slight overlap of Crohn’s!
How long does it typically take for an unknown undiagnosed inflammation in the colon to progr
