@Lovey5457 Hi, I definitely experience this! I can't use anything "heavy duty" without it bringing on an attack. I try to go for things that are less chemically in general because I don't like the idea of using chemicals on my counters where my food goes. I've heard that white vinegar is a good cleaner but the fumes are too much for me. I really like the "Method" brand cleaners. They've got a good antibacterial spray and the scents are nice and not overwhelming. I usually get mine at Target but I think most grocery stores carry them! Hope this helps!

@Lovey5457 @seattlelife Hello Lovey5457 and seattlelife, thank you for starting and participating in this discussion! This is a great question, as many of the harsh chemicals used in some cleaning products can trigger asthma symptoms or allergies.
Hello members, I hope you don't mind that I've tagged you here. Is your asthma aggravated by the chemicals in most cleaning products? Do you have any brands that you prefer that don't give you any trouble? Do you have any tips or techniques to avoid the fumes? Feel free to share below!

@Lovey5457 My mom always used vinegar and borax growing up because it bothered her (and me later when we figured out I had asthma). I'm not sure it has antibacterial properties to it but at least there aren't any noxious fumes!

My asthma is in control now, stress has a lot to do with asthma...Taking many walks with my lil fur friend is keeping me sane.... We are still in a partial shut down in Massachusetts & not back to work at this point either....
I need a little advice on cleaning the tub, around the grout area....Method was good but not for the mildew that accumulates in that area.... I was thinking of baking soda..
Any ideas what other people use to clean mildew??

I can only use products that are natural. If I do use Lysol or bleach, it has to be well diluted. My smells seem to have gotten worse as I got older. I had to even switch working in the hospital to a private office due to the chemical they clean with at hospital

@Domonae Oof yeah I can relate to that. Mine have definitely gotten worse with age too. I can't be in the same room or subway car with someone who's put on a lot of perfume. It's the worst.

I have asthma & I am wondering what other people use to clean their homes, using lysol brings on the asthma & I am looking for other alternatives to cleaning especially with this Covid -19 Virus.
I am well otherwise, have had issues with asthma but it is well controlled now. Hope all of you are well, safe & healthy!!!!
God Bless Us All!!
