Hello everyone! How are you?
Do you think depression and alcohol addiction can be linked? How do you cope with mental struggles without alcohol or substances? What can you recommend to someone with such issues?
Take care,
Polina from the Carenity team

I am a recovering alcoholic, 31 years sober and it is a vicious circle. I started drinking at 11 years old and soon discovered how it numbed the pain of my depression. This is not something you can take control of on your own, you have made the first and must crucial step, admitting you have an addiction, yes it is an addiction, I congratulate you on this. Please look into AA meetings in your area and also if you don't already have one get yourself a therapist. I am not going to lie to you, it is not an easy road but you can kick it. I'm here if you want to talk more!!

Hey I think I might be a depressed alcoholic. Alcohol helps me to get through each day but then I feel so bad physically that I get anxious and keep drinking to stop the pain. It's a vicious cycle and I don't know how to stop it. Does anyone have a similar issue? Thank you
