I don't know how to get thru my day without prayer. You can talk to Him whenever or where ever you are. You don't need to have specific prayer but The Lord's prayer is a good start. You can ask Him to help you in the areas of your life that you are struggling. You can ask Him to help your friends and others for their health or financial burdens, etc. You can pray for people who are hungry, homeless, victims of natural disasters, victims of abuse or crimes. When I see an ambulance, a funeral procession or a wreck, I pray for them. It is very important to talk to God about things you said, have done and have thought about that needs forgiveness and to help you not to do so . I hope this helps you get a start on your prayer life. Most important to remember is that God loves you.

@Idunnoanymore Hi. First of all, welcome!! I like your question. Pray. Yes, sort of. I'm a church going person, I watch on my cell. Both folks have passed, & their services were at church. For myself, I find it hurts to go back there. I love Easter, I mean Adore it, religious significance but also, in N. Hemisphere, spring is soon upon us. That means warmer temps. I like it hot ( call me weird, fine). Get winter depression, so summer is more my scene.
But, I digress. Yes, I pray in my own way. An aunt once said even to say or think a person's name, or situation, is a form of prayer. I don't actually sit in a Cathedral, or wherever, & fold my hands, but it's enough for me. I hope that helps & pray best for u.

Hello @Idunnoanymore! How are you feeling today?
Thank you for starting this discussion! I am very glad to hear that going to church makes you feel better! Personally, I think there is right or wrong when it comes to praying, as long as you put your heart into it. Good luck on your journey! I will tag some members who might want to share their thoughts on this topic.

@GayDenice I pray! However, do not pray on a regular basis. But, I do believe that when one does pray; as long it comes from the heart and is truly sincere, your prayers will be answered!

I pray. For a long time I quit .Years I refused . I had it in my head and heart that Jesus had forsaken me. Left me hanging here alone and feeling like I was going through hell on earth. I have schizoaffective disorder which is a major depression disorder on steroids. I have audio and visual hallucinations. A constant freekin noise in my head that hasn't stopped since I was 3. I felt and sometimes still feel abandoned by my supposed savior. But not to long ago I went through a really bad time and the only way made it through was crying out to Jesus. I've been praying π ever since . I still have those feelings sometimes though .when the anxiety is really bad and I feel the depression coming on. I still cry out though..And hang on for dear life . You don't need anywhere special to pray π .where ever your at when you feel the need. I had a special place in my room that was just for prayer ,when I prayed for life in general. Idk maybe I'll get back there someday. At least I hope I will. I miss the intimacy alot
Anyhow , hang in there! It will definitely be OK . Remember, there is absolutely nothing that lasts forever . This to shall pass π 0

Hello,
I'm new here but from the discussions I've seen, it looks like a very supportive place! I wanted to ask if anyone here prays? I started going to church every Sunday. Even though getting out of bed is hard, I still try to stick to it. I try to pray there and it makes me feel a lot better for some time. Do you pray at home? I don't know how to do that. Do I need to buy something and set up a place? Or?
