Hi @Harleydills I had an acquitance who had DKA. He experienced fruity odored breath and I do remember him saying he felt mentally confused - like the feeling he was just out of it. He would describe it as a weird feeling like he did not feel that he was truly present. Is that what you mean by floaty? That mental feeling eventually went away after a week or so.
How are you doing now?

Hi there, I'm a type 1 diabetic, I've had it since I was 3 years old. This past weekend, I went to the hospital for ketoacidosis, well the early stages of it. They pumped me full of the fluids and set me off. I've been getting a hold on the blood sugars, and I've been drinking plenty of fluids...but I'm having weird "after effects".
I feel a little floaty at times, and my hands feel like they are detached from my body at times. I've read where there can be mental effects after DKA and I'm just wondering if anyone has ever experienced this?
It's just an uncomfortable feeling.
This is the first time this has ever happened to me. Thanks!
