@Type1-47 menopause can be experienced earlier at a younger age in diabetic woman and because of the hormonal changes it can cause blood glucose levels to fluctuate. I would recommend checking your BG levels more frequent than before as the hormonal changes can cause BG to go up and down and by doing so you can better track the appropriate action you should take.
Also hot flashes can cause BG to fluctuate, so if you can figure out what causes you to experience hot flashes, mitigating those factors can also help.

I have been type 1 diabetic since 1980. I am currently experiencing menopausal symptoms & am having a horrible time controlling my sugars. Mostly highs. Has this happened to others? Not much research on this subject.
