@lori49 Hello lori49, thank you for starting this discussion. I'm sorry to hear about your husband! Hopefully you can both talk to his doctor about this. In the meantime, let me tag some members who may know something about this.
Hello everyone, have you experienced weight gain after lung cancer treatment? Do you know what could cause it or do you have any advice?

Hi. I gained weight at first. I am really not sure why but I think it is because the meds and chemo gave me my appetite back. But before I was diagnosed I had lost almost 30 lbs in a month.

@lori49 Hi Lori, I'm sorry you're husband's going through that, he should be feeling good having fought off his cancer! Maybe like Jeanie said, he's getting his appetite back? Is he taking any medicines or supplements or anything right now?

THC fixes the appetite problem. Edibles or smokables will do it. guaranteed

I completely understand as I don’t have anyone to talk to also. I’m a widow & I live alone. My oldest son died in 2021 & my youngest son & his family live 3 hours. My father is dead & my mother has chronic back pain & is immobile. My younger sister lives with our mother & she is going through a divorce from her husband who abandoned her. My sister doesn’t visit me, help me, call me & rarely texts me. I have various cousins, a niece & nephew that are spread out in nearby states but are hours away from me. After I told my friends I had cancer, they quit contacting me. I have learned how to be my own care giver. It has been very difficult. I’ll admit I’ve been depressed, cried a lot, felt sorry for myself but I never gave up. I prayed & read my Bible everyday. Then I found cancer groups online like this one where I could share what I was going through & got empathetic responses. That really kept me going. I hope you find someone to talk to but I highly recommend the online cancer chat groups.

Hi everyone,
My husband went through surgery late last year with success, for now all his tests are coming back clean and with good results and he seems to possibly be in remission! But since he got out of the hospital and now he's put on a lot of weight!
He's already stressed and anxious about the cancer coming back and this on top of it is really just bringing him down. None of his clothes fit anymore. The thing we can't understand is that we eat well and watch portion size, so from what he's been eating it can't be that! He's reduced his salt intake and has completely cut out refined sugar, and his last blood test came back fine. He just can't get rid of this weight.
Have any of you been through this? What could be causing it?? If anyone has an idea on this, my ears are open!
Lori
