Hi @siemprelucha
How are you doing today?
Weight gain is common, don't be too hard on yourself. But I can understand your urge to move your body and exercise! This is a great topic for discussion, thanks for getting it started! I'll tag a few members who may be able to share the way they get some exercise.
@Rebeccacallahannn @Jude60 @Mplamb1967 @Nanmarie @RavenTheHemptress @DollyAndrews @B.miaia @Naespa @Krharty @Kat1948 @mgoodman @JaredW @terricawisner @Saustin485 @s1811133 @Scoob791 @Rfilip @Hope33 @CarBella @calmewil @SNolan82 @JuliaWils @Serrakuzz @RioCarter @dan.varady
Are you active in your daily life? What type of low impact exercise do you do? What do you do to keep cool while you move your body?
Take care,
Lizzi from the Carenity team

@MyMS55 I’ve also started PT to help with my hip on my most affected side. I didn’t realize how out of balance my sides were in comparison to each other.

swimming is great- low impact and sometimes you can find a warmer pool that helps with pain relief. Plus it's nice to float around

@Dholmes723 I found a local chair exercise group for MS. We are doing chair yoga right now and I’m really enjoying the stillness aspect of it. We’ve also done Pilates, neurological exercises, and regular exercising just from a chair. I’m learning ways to work with my body. I’ve seen some online classes too and think they are great.

Hi all!
So I've gained some weight since my diagnosis. And by some I mean noticeably a lot. I assume it happens to most people with MS due to the reduction in mobility. But what type of exercise do y'all do? In before times I was a runner and did weekend spin class. I'm willing to try new things ! But I am looking for something that I can do regularly, so no over exertion. I also get really hot now when I work out, and enclosed rooms like where my spin class was, just won't cut it anymore.
Thanks!
