Hey @cfoste1! How are you feeling today?
House assistance for multiple sclerosis could be a very useful program for so many people! Getting help can require a lot of time and research in this situation, but I hope you can find something which fits you! Good luck! I will tag some members, who might know more about getting house assistance and we all can discuss it here.

Hey everyone! How is your day going? Do you have or would like to have house assistance because of your diagnosis? Do you know any governmental programs, that help to get house assistance for MS? How does it work?
Take care,
Polina from the Carenity team

I can speak in general terms involving 2’states. It always goes back to social services. They may not even known the programs exist but they do but very few. Basically it is similar to a section 8 so income does come in to play. You need to care for yourself with modifications. Typically they purchase the home make the modifications and sell it a cost you can afford per month. I don’t know the names. If I get more info I’ll add it.

Hi @cfoste1
Here are some resources for regarding the government housing assistance programs:
Public housing: Low cost homes and apartments are available to those living in low income households and to older adults. You can also qualify if you have a disability like MS and your income meets the eligibility requirements.
Rent assistance: The government offers reduced rent and vouchers. MS may qualify you to live in low cost senior housing. Again, your income must meet the qualifications for these programs.
Homeownership vouchers: HUD has a voucher program to help you buy a home. The program also provides a monthly allowance to help cover expenses. You’ll need to be a first-time homeowner and meet income requirements to qualify.
Home loans: If you live in a rural area, you may be able to get a government loan. You can use this money to buy a home or make your current home more accessible.

Has anyone received housing assistance? I heard that there are government programs that can help with this, but I don’t know the first thing about how to go about getting help.
