Worst additive ever. Finally trained husband to read labels & told him that palm oil is a “no” always and the day he brought home items from grocery with palm oil, I immediately sent him back for a refund. Lesson learned. Since he does all the food shopping now he’s learned quite a bit.

[This content has been moderated by an administrator] Diets heavy in saturated fat have been shown to impair nerve function and the central nervous system's capacity for self-healing. Given that nerve damage is already a significant issue in MS, this is particularly risky for patients. Reducing palm oil consumption may assist safeguard heart health.

Hello everyone,
How are you doing today?
Did you know that palm oil, a common ingredient in many processed foods, could worsen the symptoms of multiple sclerosis? Recent research has shown that enzymes in brain cells convert palm oil into a toxic molecule called C16 ceramide. This molecule damages mitochondria, the “powerhouses” of the cells, depriving neurons of energy and making it harder for them to fight inflammation. This leads to more severe MS symptoms.
Are you currently mindful of avoiding palm oil in your diet? How easy or difficult is it for you to find alternatives?
