I never used to stress or boredom eat until my latest autoimmune diseases PMR & Ménière’s the last 3 years I find myself snacking from boredom and pain I try to only snack on healthier foods oranges, bananas, apples but at times I eat saltines and hard cheese… I used to watch my wife snack often when stressed but I never used partake both autoimmune diseases demand some couch time and cause boredom

I think it all depends on the person you are. I tube feed and I can't eat to drink anything by mouth. But if I could I don't think I could resort to eating when I am stressed or frustrated. For me, I always suggested to my family and friends to try and keep busy or focus on something you enjoy. Could be sports, reading, visiting your friends, etc. The day will go by fast and it would be a nice distraction from whatever your stressed about. Worrying is not going to help you. Take some time to relax and see what your options are.

Hello everyone, how are you doing?
Eating isn’t always just about hunger, it’s often connected to how we feel. Many of us turn to food during certain emotional moments, not because we’re physically hungry, but because we’re stressed, sad, lonely, or just plain bored. This is called emotional eating. It can bring brief comfort, but more often than not, it leaves us feeling guilty or unsatisfied afterward. 😞🍫
Let’s talk openly about this:
What emotions most often lead you to eat when you’re not hungry?
Have you found ways to better recognize and manage these moments?
What helps you get back to more mindful eating?
