Hello everyone, how are you doing?
The way chronic illness is portrayed in the media can have a big impact on public perceptions and influence how people with these conditions are treated. Some feel that chronic illness is oversimplified or even glamorized, while others feel that the real, daily struggles of patients are ignored. 🤔
In many places, the media tends to focus on “miracle cures,” extreme cases, or inspirational narratives, which can give the public a limited view of what it’s really like to live with a chronic condition.
Does this portrayal match your experience? Or do you think that the media provides an unrealistic picture of living with chronic illness? Has it affected how people treat or understand you?
