Wow I was just talking about this on another social media fibromyalgia blog. I have found that my family doesn’t support me at all. My husband said because his knee and hip hurt so he knows how I feel. I just wanted to choke him. lol I feel like my family causes me stress. I feel as if they don’t believe me on how much I hurt. Just because I push myself to try and enjoy my life like go to Disneyland for example. He seems to think I’m ripping and running through all the rides. What he doesn’t get I do a lot of sitting, standing. A whole lot of people watching. lol I use a walker or a scooter. My family seems to think since I had back surgery and his friend had back surgery also and he is fine. I should be fine as well. What my family doesn’t understand it caused numerous problems, and fibromyalgia is just one thing along the numerous stuff it’s caused me. They don’t bothering asking me or even try to educate themselves.

@6J0rdans Thank you so much for sharing, and I’m really sorry to hear this. It can be incredibly tough when those closest to us don’t fully understand what we’re going through, especially with something like fibromyalgia, which is so complex and invisible. Please remember that you’re definitely not alone in this. Sending you lots of support 💜

Hello everyone!
How are you doing today? 😊
Having the support of family or close friends can be incredibly helpful when managing a chronic illness. But sometimes, even the most well-meaning loved ones can add stress. Whether it’s through high expectations, constant check-ins, or unintentional pressure to “get better,” it’s easy to feel overwhelmed.
Have your loved ones been a source of comfort, or do their concerns sometimes feel like an additional burden? How do you balance accepting help while maintaining your independence? Do you have any strategies to communicate your needs or set boundaries? 🧠💪
