Hello @Ari768
I'm really sorry to hear about your mother's diagnosis. It's completely normal to feel unsteady and anxious, especially considering the upcoming surgeries and treatments. My thoughts are with both of you. Please remember that you don't have to go through this alone. Have you considered talking to a therapist or counselor? Maybe they can help you navigate your emotions and provide coping strategies.
Let me go ahead and tag a few members of our community who are or might have been in a similar situation as you, to invite them to share their experiences:

A month ago, I learned that my mother has breast cancer. Since it has spread too far for the lump to be removed, she will need a mastectomy, lymph node removal, and reconstructive surgery. I am 17 years old and have so far proven to be rather strong, but tonight I feel unsteady and anxious. Despite their best efforts, my friends struggle to understand because they are not in the same situation. The operation for my mother is coming up, and I have no idea what to anticipate from that or the subsequent radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Please accept my thanks: x
