@Crikitt - my husband's stroke was not caused by an auto-immune disorder. Was yours caused by this? I am sorry to hear about that and cannot understand the frustration that may come along with the stroke, but knowing that a condition that you could have done nothing about it causing it.

Sorry that your husband had a stroke. May I ask how he is doing now physically/mentally? May I also ask how his stroke, if in any way, has affected your marriage? I've been married for 21yrs.
Had my stroke at 29 now I'm 50. Wasn't aware that I had an auto-immune disorder (antiphosolipid antibody syndrome) that caused mine....plus a host of other health problems. Also, very rare. Found out yrs later, my Mother, also had it. All my health problems I have now, are hereditary...lucky me lol. Thanks

Also, I'm hemiplegic now. Wear an AFO brace on leg because of drop foot.

Hi everyone, I encourage everyone to stay on topic of the discussion, which is discussing the topic of "whether your stroke was caused by an auto-immune disorder." Comments in this discussion should be about or related... this helps when members are browsing the forums or searching for a certain topic to discover the discussions; for example, members searching for shoes or foot orthosis may not be aware that these topics are being discussed in here since it is unrelated to the topic... When this occurs, I encourage you to create your own brand new discussion with your concern in the forums.
@Crikitt - I wanted to let you know about a discussion dedicated to members discussing on how a stroke has impacted their marriage or relationship - click here for the discussion
@cboyd62003yahoo.com @TONIA01 @Crikitt - I created a new discussion to hopefully encourage discussion around orthotics where everyone can discuss orthoses and their experiences with them, for it to serve as a repository of advice and support. I encourage you to post your comments also in that discussion, which you can access by clicking here.

May I please ask if one of these disorders caused your stroke?
