I’m sorry to hear that this is happening to you. If I was with you I would of said what where you trying to say or have the conversation go back to you. It use to happen to me. A lot of times I was afraid to speak up. Until I told a friend how I felt. It makes you feel like something is wrong with you, and an added piece of furniture. Feel left out and ignored.
I will tell you this. There is nothing wrong with you. It is wrong for them to ignore you or cut you off like that. I’m sorry this happened. If you ever need a friend I’m here to listen. Is there a close friend, you can talk to who you can express this concern too? And maybe by talking about it with them they may change. Sometimes people don’t even pay attention or realize that they are doing it. Speak up about it. It might help.

Thank you! The only real friend I have is my boyfriend of almost 5 years. He never does this to me, thankfully, but I've even had family members do it to me. I can't speak up to them because they'll say I'm too sensitive. My family gives me nicknames, like Eeyore, due to my depression. I've stopped talking so much around other people, because I see no point if I'm just going to be cut off.

I totally get it. It brings you to the point that you don’t feel like talking anymore. Express this to your boyfriend. I’m sure he will be willing to listen and help you. Your family is wrong to make you feel like that. I’m so sorry. I wish I could be of more help. I remember being called names and a monster and one day I had the guts and told them to stop. You have the inner strength and courage in you. Don’t give up on expressing your thoughts. Stand up. Be strong. And I promise you that not matter the outcome , wether good or bad , it will make you feel better knowing you had the courage to speak up. It’s hard doing this alone. So talk with you boyfriend, and next time when you are around family and friends they may come to their senses when someone else says something. I hope this helps.

A lot of times, when I'm talking, I'll either get cut off, or the person will stop listening to me entirely. I have actually had people walk away from me or start a conversation with someone else in the middle of my sentence. I'll stand there and listen to them, but as soon as I open my mouth, they're gone. It's absolutely devastating, and since I have barely any friends, it always makes me think that I'm the problem, I'm boring or whatever. I always go back to someone if they get cut off by someone else, because I know how awful it feels, but no one has ever done that for me. I'm pretty shy, so I feel embarrassed trying to go back to my story, I'll just let it go.
It sucks.
