Good morning everyone. Hope all are well. Hospitalized for depression, I have. In fact, several times. First time, was in 7th grade. Bit scary. I stopped going to school, they called it school phobia'. Hmm, they didn't know I have autism back then. Can't recall if doc who told my parents to sit on me, was guy who admitted me to place. He Insisted they sit on me whenever I had power struggle. I did report him to proper ppl, however, was Way after statute of limitations had passed. Yet, got letter back from ppl saying, bc of his recommendations, they'd keep letter on file. Am sure he's retired, if not passed away by now.
Now, understand, I was incessantly bullied growing up ( autism). Plus, as an adult, I've been placed in psych wards to have ECT. They work great for me!! Trouble is, being put to sleep w anesthesia. Can't function rest of the day, like to work. This last winter, opted for TMS. Unsure if helped, as greenery always makes me feel better! Gotta put check in bank, do writing, talk w therapist at 9, run errands, & have meeting at 4:30ish. Anybody else have stories? Thx.

Living with depression can be challenging, and sometimes it may become necessary to seek hospitalization for intensive treatment and support. While sharing personal stories can be valuable. information and guidance. When living with depression, it's essential to have a comprehensive treatment plan that may include various approaches such as therapy, medication, lifestyle changes, and support from healthcare professionals and loved ones. In some cases, hospitalization may be recommended for individuals experiencing severe depression, thoughts of self-harm or suicide, or when outpatient treatments have not been effective. Spravato esketamine is a medication approved by the FDA for the treatment of treatment-resistant depression, but the decision to use Spravato or any other treatment modality, including hospitalization, is based on individual circumstances and professional evaluation.

Hello everyone,
How are you feeling today?
I wanted to start this discussion to talk about depression and hospitalization.
If you are experiencing severe depression and suicidal thoughts, hospitalization might be offered to you. The core idea of it is to help the patient when he/she is not able to take care of themselves, yet it is important to know how it can affect the person.

Have you ever been hospitalized because of your mental health state? What was it like?
Take care,
Polina from the Carenity team
