I would tell them to be ready to deal with ups and downs... we do not need you to tell us that there are people worse off than us or that we need to get over it. We sometimes just need to vent and need you to listen, even if you are silent.
Try to be supportive us and encourage us to seek help/treatments and offer to attend out medical sessions and counseling sessions with us. You will better understand what we are going through in our mind.

Hi members,
Often our discussions center around what one who diagnosed with depression can do to improve their mental health or the issues one is facing; however, seldom are the discussions focused on what partners and loved-ones can do to help those dealing with depression or what those who are dealing with depression wish their partner or loved-ones would consider.
What are the things you wish or would like a partner or loved-one to know when loving someone who suffers with depression?
What are some recommendations you would give to someone who loves someone with depression on how to help them?
