Hi @suplkr1
How are you doing today?
A service dog sounds like a great idea! They make great companions 💕
I'm not sure which Carenity members have a service animal, but I'll tag some people and ask for them to share their experiences.

Do you have a service animal? What process did you go through to get your animal? Did you train them yourself? How long did the whole process take?
Please share your experiences, even if you don't have an animal, would it be something you would look into?
Take care,
Lizzi from the Carenity team

Yes i do have a Service dog i was in a unusual position on training at first hearing dogs then seizure dogs in the past I had enough contacts for when i found a dog to get help Going through the akc good citizen course is a good start Your dog needs to pay attention to you At the grocery store they need to ignore food they need to be well behaved Not cleaning the floor barking at others unless there is an issue You will find people want to pet them even if you have a sign First the dog is working its attention is on you Second you will find it take you 3-4 times longer in a store Some may get mad Its your medical device You are not required to have it registered or a service dog jacket you will find it easier I also carry a copy of my states rules and the federal gov Sone states add a lot this can help with a lot of issues Anyway my dog is Hope She us a @ yr old Bull Mastiff She had an adventurous live before 3 i got her after It took us a solid year before all was set A trainee has the same rights so once you have plan incorporate that It helps to get a prescription Obtaining a dog trained usually starts at .20k goes jp from there

Hi Carenity
I'm considering getting a service dog. They can help open doors and get things from the floor. They can also go get help in an emergency. Does anyone have a service dog? What was the process you went through to get and train it?
