I was given no information, or told anything to do for my fatty liver disease. They just told me that it came with diabetis sometimes. Mine got so bad that it has turned into non alcoholic cyrossis of the liver.

I am sorry to hear that @janewood. Unfortunately, that has been the consensus with this condition. The patients are given the diagnosis, but seldom, any more information other than that.
Thank you for sharing

Same here. I was told of my condition and given some medicines and then scheduled an appt. 6 months out.
I was given no prognosis... no explanation of the condition, etc. on the date of my diagnosis.
It was quite depressing.

It is sooooo crazy to me to know that we were all just given a diagnosis and sent on our way! I wonder if this is just to NASH or if it similar for other conditions. The medical team should learn from this.

I was diagnosed with liver disease 5 years ago. It healed and came back recently. Alot worse than the last time. Its causing me all kinds of other problems. I'm sick all the time. Doc is in process of trying to find out what's causing it and the severity of it.

@CherylJ I am sorry to hear that it has came back recently and hope you are able to get it under control soon.
When you originally were diagnosed, did the doctor explain to you diagnosis and were you aware what to expect? Or did you feel like after the diagnosis you were more lost and confused?

@kicknit Thank you for your input. It seems many of those diagnosed with NASH share a similar experience with you.

Hey all - Hope you do not mind me tagging you in this; however, this si growing to be an interesting conversation and was looking for more input from our NASH members.
What has been your experience in being diagnosed with NASH?
One of the main complaints of those diagnosed with Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease is that the doctor spent little to no time explaining to them their condition, the prognosis, and the plan of care at the appointment where they received their diagnosis or where they were told the findings of the medical studies revealing nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.
Did you have a similar experience or did your doctor explain to you the condition? The plan of care?
