I may be overthinking. But I have to. I won't be here much longer and some very basic things need done. The only people I have are just ignoring important things as if they will go away. Well, they won't. When you don't have people that get it, you have to be the overthinker. It is not always a choice. Trust me, I wish someone else would do some of the thinking I have to.

I am definitely an over thinker. And it does cause anxiety. I have just begun learning to breathe and re direct my mind. It’s not easy but I can accomplish it.

I often overthink about my feelings. Because I hurt so much and so often I am constantly drawn to how I feel. I learned to hide my feelings at an early age. I now regret hiding my true feelings. About 17 years ago I started to talk and share. I now get what I want and need but at a huge cost.
I practice Yoga Poses, meditate, run, mountain bike, physical fitness and therapy exercises, and see and go outside in nature to regain focus. All of these components help me to find my “Okay” Place. I love all my coping techniques but they have taken a life time to find and practice.

Hi everyone,
How are you doing today?
Overthinking is something that a lot of people do, but rarely is it constructive. Overthinking is caused due to various reasons like fear, intolerance to uncertainty, trauma, or perfectionism. Overthinking can also be a symptom of already existing mental health conditions such as generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety, or depression. There are ways to help to keep your overthinking to a limit and work to improve it.
1. Reframe the negative thoughts- take a step back, and see it from a different perspective.
2. Meditation and mindfulness- being present at the moment. Meditation allows you to acknowledge your thoughts are there, and then you choose not to accept them and pay attention to something that pleases you.
3.Breathe- focus on slowing your breath down, you slow your heart, which helps to calm your mind. Fill your lungs with air and holding it for several seconds. Then slowly exhale the air, repeat until you are relaxed.
4.Write your thoughts down-Journaling will help you be aware of your thinking pattern, and once you learn it, you can change it.
5.Change the direction of your thought-Spend time thinking about the things that can go right instead of just worrying about the negatives.
6.Distract yourself- go on a walk, do the laundry, play with your dog. Try doing something that you enjoy and that gets your body in motion.
7.Practice gratitude-start thinking about all the good and positive things in your life and remember how lucky you are.
