I have heard of the treatment, would like to have it, so I asked my pulmonologist about it. However, he said I'm not a candidate due to my age (when I asked him I was 78 years old, which was three years ago). I went ahead and got three other opinions; sadly, they all agreed with my pulmonologist.

Can we be prescribed anything for the anxiety caused by shortness of breath (dyspnea)?

In order to deal with any anxiety during sob episodes, I try to focus on an object while concentrating on deep breathing exercises until it's under control. Works well for me. I'm a firm believer in no more meds than absolutely necessary.

Hello everyone,
I was reading around today about lung volume reduction surgery and came across a newer treatment it seems called lung volume reduction coil surgery. In this surgery, it seems in this new surgery permanent coils are placed into the lung to help the lungs recoil and improving the elasticity of the lungs.
Here is a page on Cleveland clinic that I found while researching: https://health.clevelandclinic.org/tiny-coils-help-copd-patients-to-breathe-easier/
You can see a video about here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gIa2Ey5ag7E
Does anyone know about this treatment or any information?
