@havefaithalways Hello havefaithalways, thank you for starting this discussion. I think diet is an important topic for patients with chronic conditions. Let me tag some members who can maybe share their thoughts on this.
Hello all, how are you today? Have you noticed if your diet affects your psoriasis? Do you know of any foods or diets that may help it? What have you tried?

@havefaithalways Have you tried an anti-inflammatory diet yet? Apparently there are foods that are known to cause inflammation in some people (like gluten, dairy, etc.), so if you eliminate those, it may help you. I stopped eating red meat last year on a whim and I saw a bit of improvement with my plaques.

Hi everyone,
How are you today? Have you seen our new article about inflammatory diets and psoriasis? You can read it here:
Psoriasis: Can anti-inflammatory foods help to fight flare-ups?
What do you think? Have you noticed that a change in diet has helped (or harmed) your psoriasis? Are any of the foods listed in the article a trigger for you?

I've been interested in this, especially with my PA. Has anyone found anything that works?

@Starke I can't really comment on my skin, but I try to follow an anti-inflammatory diet for my PA and I feel like between that and the methotrexate it's helped. It's really not a hard diet to follow, I cut out refined carbs (bread, pasta, etc), red meat, alcohol and basically all "junk food". I cheat a bit during the holidays and stuff and on a weekend here and there and once I do I can basically guarantee a flare up of some sort in my joints.

So if I remember correctly, when I was diagnosed my doctor said that diet doesn't affect the condition, or at least not in a way not that scientists can prove, but he also said a lot of other psoriasis patients say it does. Can anyone recommend any changes I could make to my diet to try to help? I've recently been trying to avoid dairy where I can for other reasons, but I haven't noticed a change.
