@Courtney_J Hah, my wife was actually the one who pushed me to get diagnosed. She couldn't stand my snoring any longer (which I guess I don't blame her, I'd wake up with a sore throat in the mornings it was so bad) and I scared her a bit when my breathing would stop periodically. It's been several years now and my sleep has gotten much better with my CPAP. I'm still working on my health and weight so hopefully one day I won't need it anymore. Hope everyone is doing ok!

Have had some trouble getting the diagnosis. What with Corona and my rural area. Couldn't get in for the sleep study until July. Now with a diagnosis am waiting to get in for the over night titration.
Work a goofy schedule (up at 4:30) Will that be hard on me?

I have bad COPD and emphysema and am on oxygen 24/7, so it kind of came with the territory. I started the CPAP when I started the oxygen full time.
@BettyT I don't think that would cause a problem, but I'd check with the sleep lab first. I'd assume they'd be able to make accomodations for you

Finally got my machine. Slept for 9 hours the first night! Still have to figure out how to stop the marks on my face. Going to a much larger community tomorrow where I can get supplies. Any suggestions?

I have not been diagnosed yet, scheduled for latter this month. Recently went to the Dr. with oxygen saturation spiking problems during the day and elevated blood pressure. Dr. recommended a sleep study to see if I have apnea. I have a problem with spending so much money without knowing more. I purchased a ring type sleep monitor to track my O2 while sleeping and it gives me mixed results. One night I can have 200 O2 drops >4% other nights I may have few drops >4%. Does anyone diagnosed with apnea have similar variable O2 drops from night to night? Thanks for any input...

@BettyT As for the mask marks, I had the same issue. I went for an MRI on my knee and the technician noticed my marks and told me to check Amazon for CPAP mask pads or strap covers. I bought some and no more morning marks.

I was diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism and I can remember, the doctors asking if I snore or have sleep apena. I told them I use to snore but usually don't sleep 8 hours. So we set up a appointment and that was two weeks ago. The results say I stopped breathing 67.5 times ( I think it said per hour. So my next appointment is on the 24 of this month 6 days after I get my defibrillator implanted. Not sure what type of machine my insurance company or medical supply company has. Kinda nervous about the whole thing!
