Dry mouth is what I've been struggling with. I really need a sleep solution. I wear my cpap 2-3 hours tops and get frustrated and take it off. I had an ablation for afib 2 weeks ago and really need to get this under control.

@JasonS. I, too, suffer from what I call cotton mouth. Mine is from meds, & I chew gum all the time. Also have TMJ, but my dentist would never say stop chewing. Sipping water can help. I wish u well.

I was just diagnosed with severe sleep apnea over a month ago. I got a cpap machine 4 weeks ago but I still can't get used to having something on my face. I don't feel safe when I wear it. I know that sounds silly but that is how I feel. I have 90 days to get used to it according to insurance. I am frustrated and can't have it on more than an hour or 2. Are there other devices out there that are easier to use in case I can't get used to the cpap? Any advice is appreciated.

@dkstine hi. A thought occurred to me. Called Inspire. It's like a pacemaker implanted to help keep your airway open. I looked into it but don't qualify. My apnea isn't bad enough to get it. Um, do they need me dead before surgically implanting it?? A joke, just not funny. I wish u well.

@dkstine Keep the CPAP but change the mask to a less invasive one such as nasal pillows.

@Donnastom thanks for the thought. Anything on/in face uncomfortable. Tried all. Mouth appliance somewhat helpful. Go for return appt tomorrow, when MN is expecting blizzard. I'll cope.

Even though I have the humidification on the highest level I still wake up with dry mouth. Itβs very uncomfortable and annoying. Is there anything I can do to solve this problem?

@Nobighurry
Thanks!
Nothing helps my dryness. I just started taking a new medication that papMD came out with. It seems to help quite a bit. Itβs called Hydroflow.
