During your CPAP adjustment period, did you wake up with a dry mouth and sore throat? What did you do to fix it? Have you been classified as a mouth breather? Have you ever tried mouth tape?
Any advice is welcome!
Take care,
Lizzi from the Carenity team

Hi… I tried mouth tape for the same reason as you I was quite unhappy with it a total waste of money IMO I did everything to try and get it to stick for my than 15-min shoot I even tried high tack wide masking tape it didn’t solve any of my issues I tried chin strap and tape I figured my mouth breathing is to engrained.. I am using an ASV with full face mask now when I stop breathing it bumps the pressure up to 19-22 psi BUT my apnea numbers are extremely good now 0.1-0.5 vs 33-35 I feel better now and my BP has responded well best of luck others may have had better luck with tape than I…

Kwilliams01,
I have tried the mouth tape. It does work but hopefully you don’t drool in your sleep because then it will loosen the tape. It may freak you out because you will want to open your mouth when you’re sleeping, same as when you wore the chinstrap. I hope this has helped.

I've been through a similar struggle. Mouth tape can actually be a game-changer for some people. It helps keep your mouth closed during sleep, encouraging you to breathe through your nose and potentially reducing dry mouth and throat soreness. But, if you're finding it uncomfortable, it might not be the best fit for you. [This content has been moderated by an administrator for violating Carenity’s Terms of Use.]

@ReginaldPatrick It really helps me. My mouth would open at night even wearing the cpap. Since I started using it, I feel better in the morning than before. It's not expensive $10 for a pack of 60. Buy a pack an try it.

I tried 2 mouth tape products and both were too annoying to use on a regular basis. I decided to try the Chin Strap (ResMed version) and so far m dry mouth symptoms have decreased significantly.

@Footslogger The chin strap didn't work out for me but the tape does. To each his own!

I wear a CPAP every night and still wake up exhausted, dry mouth , and sore throat. I was told it could be that I am a mouth breather. I have tried chin strap but I could not tolerate it. I have also had my rate on my machine checked as well. Has anyone tried the mouth tape, if so does it really work. I am so frustrated.
