@AlwaysSleepy Hello AlwaysSleepy, thank you for opening this discussion and sharing what you're going through. If you haven't already seen it, the National Eating Disorder Association has a helpful article describing ARFID's clinical definition and manifestations: ARFID. Let me tag some other members in our community who can possibly share with you.
Hello everyone, while some of the most known and talked about conditions are anorexia or bulimia, there are many different forms of eating disorders, including avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder.
Have you ever heard of ARFID or been diagnosed with it yourself? What can AlwaysSleepy do to get help?

Thanks Courtney and yes I have read what you mentioned but as I mentioned when they describe it they only reference people with the condition as being underweight and even to the point of dying from malnutrition. This is where I am different in that for me it is causing out of control weight gain. I am 5'10" and am 335 pounds and still gaining. I have talked to every doctor I can get to and searched online and simply can't find help that is in reach of someone that can't afford upwards of $30,000 a month. I am seriously afraid of dying from this. But thanks for the reply.

Hi all, I am new here. I am a 58-year-old man and I have suffered my entire life with not being able to eat properly. I am 5'10" and weigh 330 pounds. My entire life have been told oh you are just being picky you could eat other foods if you wanted. For me it doesn't work like that. I can go to a buffet restaurant with my wife and when see foods on her plate I will think wonder what that tastes like but that is far as can go. I can't ever actually force myself to put it in my mouth. I recently discover something called ARFID (Adult restrictive food intake disorder) than comes close to describing me but it talks about people being malnourished and obviously at 330 pounds I am not. My diet consists of meat breed and potatoes with almost no vegetables along with sweets and junk food. If there is anyone out there that is dealing with this same problem would very much to talk with you especially if come across a way to fix it.
