Hi everyone, how are you doing? Do you every worry or have anxiety about your cancer? How do you deal with this feeling? Do you have any coping methods or someone you can talk to about it?

@Courtney_J I had Dr prescribe anxiety meds. Also deep breathing, meditation and hot bath with hibiscus scented epson salt and lavender bubble bath works well too

I also did deep breathing and found it helps a lot. Just remember to take it one day at a time and one moment at a time. You need a good support system too. Talk to your Doctor about it and decide with them if you want to take medication. They gave me anti anxiety medicine when I had radiation and a head CT. Just take it easy on yourself and give yourself a break when you need one. And it’s ok to cry too. I hope this helps.

Here are a few options. I use Spotify to play meditation music, sounds to fall asleep. Essential oils thru diffuser, I sent my special group of friends prayer bracelets to keep me in their prayers and they send me random text messages of bible verses, well wishes, I call every now and then to seek their advice and special prayers.

I am almost certain that I must be nearing the end of all. I am in the middle of my 2nd round of Chemo for Lung and Liver cancer, and suddenly today the alled and said they scheduled a T scan for next week. That is fine, however I would have liked it better if the DR called and advised me there is a problem so that we could discuss my options

You are not alone. My Dr is equally negligent in communicating information about test results and their implications for quality of life issues. I’ve become my own advocate based on my research of options and side effects. I’ve switched Drs because of it. Best wishes to you in your fight to become an informed patient.

@MsB I have been doing research about my SCLC. Anything I uggest to my DR. she poo poo's. Unfortunatly we live in a small area and the nearest large city is an hr away. I am just continuing to do as much research as I can and pray they find a cure, or something to slow down the progression of this horrible disease. Good luck to you, and keep us informed please

I completely understand as I don’t have anyone to talk to also. I’m a widow & I live alone. My oldest son died in 2021 & my youngest son & his family live 3 hours. My father is dead & my mother has chronic back pain & is immobile. My younger sister lives with our mother & she is going through a divorce from her husband who abandoned her. My sister doesn’t visit me, help me, call me & rarely texts me. I have various cousins, a niece & nephew that are spread out in nearby states but are hours away from me. After I told my friends I had cancer, they quit contacting me. I have learned how to be my own care giver. It has been very difficult. I’ll admit I’ve been depressed, cried a lot, felt sorry for myself but I never gave up. I prayed & read my Bible everyday. Then I found cancer groups online like this one where I could share what I was going through & got empathetic responses. That really kept me going. I hope you find someone to talk to but I highly recommend the online cancer chat groups.
