Hey @Clydesdale how are you doing? I am so sorry that your mom is diagnosed with stage 4! I am sure you are shocked and puzzled. The "realization feeling" takes a while to settle in, and I can imagine it is also with you.
How was it during the holidays? I know it was a struggle, but as a recommendation try to be strong for your mom and continue as much as normal as possible and encourage her to do so also because the mind is so powerful! Let me know if you need to talk. I am new to this site also.

@Clydesdale very sorry to hear about your mother's diagnosis. I have moved your discussion to the more appropriate forum "Living with Cancer" so that more users will see it.
How are you holding up? And your mom? Any updates on her condition?

TY makeitstop for your email! Finally someone responded to my post! The holidays went okay, but we did not spend it with my mom. Yes, I would love to talk further, but would like to know more about you and what condition you are experiencing as well first as well. And, HAPPY NEW YEAR !
Kind Regards
Clydesdale

I completely understand as I don’t have anyone to talk to also. I’m a widow & I live alone. My oldest son died in 2021 & my youngest son & his family live 3 hours. My father is dead & my mother has chronic back pain & is immobile. My younger sister lives with our mother & she is going through a divorce from her husband who abandoned her. My sister doesn’t visit me, help me, call me & rarely texts me. I have various cousins, a niece & nephew that are spread out in nearby states but are hours away from me. After I told my friends I had cancer, they quit contacting me. I have learned how to be my own care giver. It has been very difficult. I’ll admit I’ve been depressed, cried a lot, felt sorry for myself but I never gave up. I prayed & read my Bible everyday. Then I found cancer groups online like this one where I could share what I was going through & got empathetic responses. That really kept me going. I hope you find someone to talk to but I highly recommend the online cancer chat groups.

My Mother has stage 4 pancreatic cancer that came out of nowhere. I am shocked and feel overwhelmed. She had her first chemo treatment today. They told her she would be very sick in the next two days. Therefore we cancelled Christmas for now. I just need people to talk to.
