@Oldgrannie Hello Oldgrannie, thank you for starting this discussion. I think many members are feeling the same way. Let me tag some other members so they can weigh in.
Hello members! I hope you don't mind me tagging you. How are you feeling about the end of the lockdown? Is your state starting that process yet? Do you think it's too soon? What do you think the impact will be for chronic patients?

I'm waiting for this lockdown to end so that life can go on. Those that have a life need to get back to it. We can't force people to sacrifice their lives for us with medical conditions. It's not fair to them or us. I myself have congestive heart failure emphysema copd and asthma. I'm not going to live my life in fear. At some point we are all going to die from either our medical condition or a virus like the flu or the coronavirus. As I've said life must go on. Enjoy your life because one day it will be over and you won't have any regrets.

Absolutely don’t believe that the lockdown should be let up. We do not have the appropriate PPE to protect our first line of defense for doctors, nurses, EMT. We do not have a vaccine to prevent the infection of viruses. We do not have the testing necessary to test people returning to their jobs or PPE to protect them from one another. We do not yet have a treatment that keeps people from dying from this virus. These are the 1% of CEOs and CCOs making life and death decisions for their workers. Do they care if workers die? No, because the economy is so bad, they can easily replace you.
i have diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and have gone through chemotherapy. I know what will happen to me if i am infected. I will die.
This Administration is greedy, and so are the heads of these jobs. The greatest country is rich with resources to keep Americans safe, fund rent, money for bills. But they will not release it. Their profit is more important than yours or my life. I will shelter in place.

Life has been a risk since God created us. We may or may not cure cancer in our lifetime. And yet we have vaccines for various diseases and people still die every day. We have the flu vaccine and people still die from the flu. Don't miss out on life because if you do it will be to late. Remember this the government can't protect you from viruses or natural disasters. Life must go on.

My state is on lockdown until mid-May. We will be having a soft opening of specific outdoor occupations and activities. People at risk will still be mandated to shelter in place. I am at home alone except for pick up at the pharmacy and grocery store, and always wear a mask when out. It is not safe for people with at-risk conditions until there is a viable vaccine for COVID19.

It may take a year or more before a vaccine is ever made. Do you want to wait while life goes on? Or do you say today is the day I'm going to take my life back and live it on my own terms? The choice is yours to make. Nobody can live your life for you.

We have an immune system within our bodies that fight off viruses and germs every day. Living in fear is not living at all. It's more like death. Those that believe in God and Jesus will have eternal life. This human life we have is just the beginning of something better that's waiting for us. Have faith in God and his son Jesus.

@Tim1561 Just stating the facts Tim1561. I do not live in fear. I have adjusted to an altered way of life, go for walks in the woods, visit my family virtually, wear a mask when I have to be in enclosed public places, and take comfort in the Word. My future is guaranteed, so I stay in the moment.

My state is in mandated lockdown until the beginning of June, so I'm trying to take it one day at a time. Hopefully they've done the research and waiting until then will protect those of us at risk and won't lead us into a second wave of it later one. In the meantime I've been working from home and trying to get a walk or two in per day. Trying to not let all of this go to my head.
Wishing you all the best!
