I have A-Fib and a leaking mitral valve. I had a Watchman inserted in my heart because the blood thinners I was on for so many years caused me to have too many very severe uncontrolled nose bleeds. For the leaking valve, I recently had a MitraClip inserted in my heart to stop the majority of the leakage. I've asked my cardiologists and sleep doctors if the heart symptoms were because of my sleep apnea or vice versa. Not one of them could say for sure which came first. I am 82 yrs old and you learn to live with whatever hand you are dealt. I'm doing OK now but hope in time to be doing even better. I faithfully use my cpap machine every night and I check the readouts every day and it shows that I am doing great.

Hi,
I'm Sandy and have had two mild strokes with slight residual on my left side. I recently had a heart monitor implant since it is suspected that I have A-Fib. I have a diagnosis of Cryptogenic Stroke. I'm 79 and am otherwise in
good health. Currently my meds are Aggrenox and a statin. Happy Holidays everyone!

Hi everyone, I just joined the group! I have CHD and had a heart attack a few years ago. I was fitted with a pacemaker not long after. I had to make some major changes to my diet and lifestyle and it was certainly a scare, but overall I'm in a better place now health-wise.
Hope everyone is having a happy new year so far! :)

I have had two strokes, a seizure, and at times, I am afraid that I will die alone. I feel as if no one will know what has happened to me.

@Somya.P I was recently diagnosed with 50% blockage (Stenosis) of the carotid arteries. Waiting for the ultrasound by my Cardiologist to see if it is actually only 50%, therefore no action needed at this time...If 70% or more, then prepare for Cardio-Vascular Surgery to clear...

I was having chest pain on and off last year. Every test came back normal. Then in July 2023 I was having more chest pain. They decided to do a Heart Cath. I was told it was fine. The cardiologist came in ( not my regular cardiologist) and told me my heart was fine. I did not need to see a cardiologist. Then on July 23 while at church I told my sister I was not feeling right. Next thing I am being put in an ambulance to the hospital. Turned that I had a small heart attack. On July 25 another Heart Cath was performed and it was determined I was more than 75% blocked. A large stent was inserted in my Mid LAD. All of this was 3 weeks after the first Heart Cath and the other cardiologist telling me there was nothing wrong. I still get angina pain once in a while but otherwise I am doing better.
