@hellothere i agree before my father died he said "The saddest part of life is saying goodbye to someone with whom you wanted to spend your life with" it made me think for the longest time. but i agree idk what will happen in 20 years and no one else does either. u just have to stay strong. my father may have not been a good man but he taught me alot of things that help me through life. the point that im getting at is right ur wrongs and learn from them. ik from experience that it is hard. but humanity was made to pursue and continue with or without u and thats the truth. so y not pursue with them. life is like a flower u grow up and then blossom. im sure ur a very gorgeous and delicate flower. so use it to ur advantage. ur only 20 so live ur life to the fullest. ur bf/gf is the bug that kills ur flower so get rid of them. ik its hard ive seen my mom go through it but i believe u can.

I am new here. I am pushing myself to reach out . I'm not good at asking for help but know that I need it. I'm so depressed I couldn't get off the couch today. I know the things I should do but I just can't make myself. I have no energy and stay overwhelmed. I'm hoping that talking with people that understand will help

Hello, I am seeking help! My home is an absolute pig sty and I am tired of living this way! My problem is I just can't find a way to get myself motivated enough to do anything about it. As embarrassing as this is to admit, my house has gotten to the point where I've got maggots everywhere! It smells horrible like dog/cat urine and I've got flies flying around everywhere. I honestly don't know what to do or how to get myself motivated enough. I've got no clean silverware/ plates etc.
. and I've got two dogs/cats living with me and it's not a healthy environment for any of us and I need help as to how I can get motivated enough to put my big girl pantie's on and just deal with the grossness and clean. I have been diagnosed with anxiety and depression, but I am on medications to help, but I am still lacking the urge to get motivated. How do you guys deal with it or use the grossness to your advantage? I really need some advice and good tips/tricks to get this apartment clean! Thank you so much in advance and I will literally pretty much do anything to get this house clean! I've been wanting to get Stanley steamers in here so they can deep clean the carpets but in order to do so I need the apartment to be clean so they can actually get to the carpets! Once again thank you in advance for the tips and advice!

@Petmom_1823 I suffer with hoarding tendencies as well and I am just like you. I don't know where to start. I have no energy at all and I am a foster mom as well as a pet mom to 4rescused dogs. Let's figure it out together and see what we can come up with to help both of us

Sounds like a plan! My physiatrist gave me an idea. He said “put on your favorite song and maybe knock out a few dishes or clean your bathroom and then when the song is over, either quit for the day or take a break and get back to it later.” I found that it slightly works. I tried it once and I was able to clean my bathroom and get two loads of laundry done after I put on a shirt playlist. What would you recommend?

I was just curious on a situation I had with a therapist around the age 11 or so. He had shown me the Rorschach pictures. He said tell me what you see. All my answers were ink blot. Everytime he got more and more frustrated. Eventually he tells me to just go back to class all mad. So I do, and i was curious since those were my answers does that mean anything or there's something wrong with me???

@Petmom_1823 I believe when the house is in that much disarray, you might want to get an estimate from a deep cleaning. I found them through searching hoarders, house cleaning on Google for my nephew. When you can’t do it yourself, you need to get outside help. Once it is back in order, you will find the motivation to keep it clean. Don’t worry, these helpers have been there and seen much worse; it’s their job. Good luck.

Hello Carenity Members,
I have seen in thedepression forums that there are many posts about people needing someone to talk to/listen to and feeling of overwhelemed with life or facing depression for various reason
I have created this discussion group and PINNED it so that it will remain at the top for people to do several things:
1) Those needing someone to talk to, can briefly state what they are struggling with - their situation - and that they would like to talk with someone.
2) Those who would like to listen/talk to someone else, can then private message that user directly and begin a conversation.
or
3) Those who have either overcome their depression to an extent or just really want to help and listen can also comment and say just that - basically offering themselves to be contacted.
I hope this helps open the communication and organize the forum as well. I think peer support is essential, especialy when in our own lives, perhaps we feel blocked out.
As always, there is the general forum for any and all other discussions.
If situation is very bad, please know your life is important and reach out to a medical professional or call Crisis Hotline at 1-800-273-8255
Thank you,
Lee__R
