@oklahomagirl I wouldn't use this as I'm happy with my pump, but I'm interested to hear what others think about it

@oklahomagirl @diabeticsurv I'm doing 1 mg of Ozempic. One injection a week. I started 3 months ago at 0.25 mg the 1st month and 0.5 the 2nd and now 1 mg today so that I'd get used to it. When I was at 0.25 mg I didn't see any improvement in my blood sugar levels. I didn't start seeing an improvement until 0.5. I haven't had any unpleasant side effects, but I've lost around 15 pounds. Hope that helps you.

@nomorenomore That's awesome to hear you are having such a great experience. I'm new to the T2 game. In addition to Metformin and Jardiance, Ozempic was added a few months back. It does work well to keep my spikes down but the side effects for me have been really rough. I am on 0.5 and have not been able to make it to the 1mg mark yet. Every time I try, I have major intestinal issues for days.

I started Ozempic 9 months ago. At the time, I was a little over 200 lbs and was taking 1000 mg of metformin daily. Metformin had worked for me for almost 20 years, so I didn't expect that it had suddenly stopped working. For 3 years, I gained weight even though I worked out, and I thought it was just my appetite out of control. One random day, I realized my metformin was the problem. I saw a new doctor who prescribed Ozempic. What a miracle! 9 months later, and I’m down 40 lbs, my A1C dropped from 8.1 to 5.6, and I have virtually no symptoms from the drug other than fullness. The symptoms in the beginning did not last long either. Nausea, headache, fatigue...all cleared up within a week or 2 each time my dose was increased. It can cause what feels like constipation, but for me, it’s just that I simply haven’t eaten enough. This drug feels too good to be true. I’m so pleased with my experience so far!

@jamieh Hey jamie, that stinks you've been have a rough time with it! Oh year, I had similar problems with metformin. That's so funny how we all react differently to different things.

Is anyone here on Ozempic and what do think of it. I have been on it for about 6 weeks. It seems to give me really good glucose control for about 5 weeks but Glucose but then the last two days it appears to rise

Hello @Mike400my, thank you for your question. I've moved it to this discussion about Ozempic for more visibility.
For those of you who have been on Ozempic, what has your experience been like? Has it helped to improve your glycemic control? Did or have you had any side effects? Did it seem to wear off like it has for @Mike400my?

I did use Ozempic and initially I had very good results; stabilized my BS and I did lose some weight. Unfortunately, after about 4 months my body developed an allergic reaction and I had to switch over to Victoza; so far so good and it's been more than 6 month. The biggest difference for me was Ozempic is 1 injection a week and Victoza is daily injections.

74 year old male type2 since December 2013. Was on a variety of drugs with reasonable success including Invocana. Been on Ozempic for about 9 months. A1C dropped from 8,5 to 6.5 on last 2 tests. Some side effects but tolerable. Also no increase in physical activity. My only concern is will this run it’s course and end up being ineffective. That seems to be the pattern and it’s a concern.

Can you tell me how things are going with the ozempic? I can’t remember how long exactly I have been on it but it’s been some months. Maybe a year. But I have started having leg problems like the calves of my legs are aching. I do have spinal stenosis and many messed up discs in my back and my back is hurting more these days as well. So I don’t know if my back is causing this or if it is something with the ozempic. That is the only medicine I have added in the past year. Any help would be appreciated.
have a nice day

I am currently on ozempic. Was able to come off of glimepiride and only use the ozempic. I am on .05 once a week injection. Dropped my A1C from 7.9 to 6.3. I have been on it for well over 6 months. This weekend I had some strange stuff going on that has me concerned tho. Have no idea if it is from the ozempic or not. But my legs have been bothering me for 3 days now and for two days I could hardly do anything so tired. My doctor is having me do a stress test and a heart echo to make sure that has no bearing on things. I was wondering if anyone else had had this happen while on the ozempic.
thanks for any info

Hello, my doctor mentioned Ozempic to me at my last appointment in passing but didn't really go into detail about it. I'm curious about it, apparently it exists in pill form? If I could stop doing injections or at least cut down to once a week that would be fabulous!
Does anyone know anything about it? Are any of you on it? Have you had any side effects?
Thanks so much!
