@Ernestbuck Hi I'm also undetectable, t cell count under 200 for 10 years. I find that my medication has caused some slight arthritis symptoms, which I was warned of.

@terrilynn now that's the right attitude. I really believe they will be a cure soon and hopefully we can put this behind us. A company called AGT claimed they found a cure they applied for applications this month. Just google it. Just live your life now & if you need someone to talk too. I'm here. We HIVers have to stick together😊

I'm New!
And I Feel Like I was really scared to tell my partner that I had it, that i forgot to even worry about myself, now that he knows sometimes I feel like he hates me, and finally today I cry and held him telling him I was scared! For the first time since I have been diagnosed I felt sad, and just notice how much this is affecting me! Makes me sad now because I'm just in this shock and I'm so sad internally, I'm really good at hiding it, but its killing me, and im not even sure that my partner even cares about me! I'm not sure if I even care about my self! Or if I'm even worth my own tears for all the bad things I have done!

We all have done some bad things. Some worst than others but it's never too late to start fresh. Ok, now you got HIV and now you have to deal with it. Sometimes when we don't take care and do what we are supposed to do we are forced by the universe to get it right, if we are lucky to still have life. So just stay positive and live. It may take a long time to adjust to this, I know....But one day at a time... I'm fucked up too yo, but our fight is not over😉

Ha...I have had it for so long (thirty years!) it has become like an old friend.
The thing that strikes me is the medications and how the dosage has gone from handfuls of pills taken day and at night to my current regimen: ONE PILL (Biktarvy). That alone is a miracle.

@Scottsteaux63 It really is a miracle. I was a little kid when the virus first appeared, but I remember how terrified everyone was of it. Now here we are living life.

I had a really hard time at the beginning like I think anyone who is diagnosed with any sort of chronic/potentially life-threatening condition. Now I'm doing a lot better, thanks in part friends and talking to some people on here. I'm not 100% there yet, but I'm starting to accept it and I hope to eventually get to a place where I can be open and unashamed.

Hello all,
You can call me Healthyme... I have been diagnosed for about 5 years and have over time become more and more comfortable with owning my diagnosis and educating others just how far medicine has come. Often there is a stigma attached to the words HIV or AIDS.
My journey was not easy and I do not go around openly disclosing my diagnosis; however, I no longer shy away from it or feel shame when I should disclose condition: relationships, certain medical professional appointments. But what helped me is understand what led to my diagnosis and become accepting of that, then become accepting of my life that I have the diagnosis, and then become accepting of that fact that the diagnosis does not define me for the rest of my life. These were not easy steps and were not done over night.
However, I am now coping mentally, socially, and emotionally 100% better than I was 5 years ago. I would love to hear other stories and how you are coping and perhaps we can work together to better us!
Hope all is well,
Healthyme
