@Courtney_J My sister actually had COVID a few months ago and she's still coping with the symptoms. She occasionally loses her taste and she loses her breathe making the slightest effort. It's been really rough

@mr1964 Wow thank you for sharing with us. I don't know anyone personally who's had it (though I've had friends/family of friends who have had it and/or have passed from it). It's so important to hear about real cases from real people! Thanks again!

The only people I know who got infected did at the same time as me and my boyfriend who I live with (in September), and I think we were the only ones who had symptoms for a long period... In my case I had symptoms for a month and in my boyfriend's case, a month and a half to two months. But he has asthma he had a harder time recovering.

I do know several people with Covid-19 and I knew several individuals that passed away as a result of Covid-19. It seems that the virus is attacking so many older people with weakened areas such as heart, lungs, etc. Others are non-symptomatic almost until their quarantine time is over. One of my very close friends developed vertigo and heart palpitations.

Living in a college town, students don’t seem to be taking the pandemic seriously. The night our football team won the national championship, students all met to celebrate the win. They had no thoughts of staying safe. Our football team stayed very safe because the coach told them what and how to do things. They did not venture out very much. I think each person has to have the mindset to stay safe.

@Natsully From what I've read in places, unfortunately a lot of the young people (as most do at that age I guess) feel invincible or that it's not a threat for them. I remember at one point parties in Los Angeles were especially a problem as well. I didn't even think about college towns. That's a shame because it puts the "real people" who live there at risk if they come in contact with a student who's been irresponsible.
For my part, I don't know anyone in my close personal group who's had it besides my wife, who got it from me. She was lucky and didn't have symptoms though and recovered perfectly. I wasn't so lucky.

My daughter was hospitalized for 8 weeks in June and July because of Covid. She miscarried her first child . She is still quite week here in September and has weakness, shortness of breath, and her voice is still weak. My son and his wife had Covid in August and also continue to have breathing problems, weakness and are tired.
