Hello @Hydrocephalus thank you for opening this discussion. I'm sorry you're having trouble getting SSI, unfortunately they don't make access to a lot of government programs easy. Let me tag some other members who can potentially share some advice with you.
Hi everyone, how are you doing? Do any of you have any experience applying for and/or being denied SSI? Were you able to appeal the decision? Can you share any advice on navigating the application process?

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. It's pretty uncommon for individuals with disabilities to be denied SSI benefits initially and then approved upon appeal. If I were you, I'd consult with a disability attorney or advocate. They could help you navigate the process and increase your chances of getting approved. They can also help you understand the requirements and gather the necessary evidence to support your claim. You may need a proof of your income. In this case, don't hesitate to use a pay stub creator, as it's the quickest way to get the info. I hope my advice will be helpful.

I have had it since I was 18, and I'm 42 now. My disability is Spina Bifida and I don't even remember applying for it, unless my mom applied for it for me, I know nothing about the process.

@Hydrocephalus Did they tell you why you were denied? I haven't applied for this but I think they're required to tell you why you've been denied.
