for a very long time i was like that, especially growing up. After i got married, my wife had to have a fan on, to get to sleep. I eventually learned to sleep with the white noise the fan makes, now i can't sleep without it.

Hi. Thanks for question Somya. Sleeping w silence or white noise, of any kind. I can sleep anyway, silence or in front of tv. Used to wear CPAP, which had humming sound, but I use a mouth appliance now. No sounds. Yet, don't wear it religiously nightly. Saw sleep doc & assured me I will not have heart attack, as my oxygen stats are fine. Good! Still sleepy daily, however, no need to go back to him. Just continue to see sleep dentist, who made impressions of teeth. Doable. Any other thoughts??

Hi everyone, how are you doing today? 💬
Some of us can’t fall asleep without a fan humming, a podcast playing, or the TV softly on in the background. Sound familiar?
There are many reasons people depend on background noise to sleep, it could be to block out other disturbing sounds (like traffic or snoring), to ease anxiety in silence, or simply because it’s a habit formed over time. But while it can help some drift off, sleep experts say constant noise might affect sleep quality and overall health.
🎧 So, let’s talk:
Do you rely on noise to fall asleep? What kind (white noise, music, TV, etc.)?
Have you ever tried sleeping in silence? How did it go?
Have you found ways to fall asleep without background noise?
What helps you wind down at bedtime?
