I have melanoma. It was all taken out, but I wear sunscreen religiously! Actually, I've Had melanoma. It was taken out w/o needing any medication, chemo, etc. Still wear sunscreen daily, unless it's raining. Then it washes off. Even when it snows.

I do use sunscreen. Plus a hat. I have transition glasses that are dark but change to fishing glasses on the water. I have a lot of dense shade so I get away from that sun easily and often.

As most here, sun screen. As a teenager living in Southern California in the 1960-70’s, sun screen what is that? We used to put on cocoa butter and lay for hours to get that look.
traveling in my late teens, early 20’s I saw what the people in North Africa wore, loose long sleeved tops, loose pants, or robes head coverings, eithe r wide brim hats or scarfs that would cover every thing but nose and eyes.
then living 30 years in the Arizona desert, kept with the dress of North Africa, think Lawrence of Arabia. Now with medications that make covering up even more. I add the sun screen and stay in shade, and one doctor told me, as we get older our skin can become more sensitive, not everyone, but it can happen.
so yes cover up

I've learned this the hard way from a few bad sunburns in my youth. Sun protection isn't just about avoiding a tan – it's about keeping your skin healthy in the long run.
Sunscreen is a must: I always wear sunscreen, even on cloudy days. SPF 30 or higher, broad spectrum, and water-resistant are all key. I try to reapply every two hours, or more often if I'm sweating or swimming.
Hat time: A wide-brimmed hat is a great way to shade your face, ears, and neck. It can also help keep you cool on a hot day.
Sunglasses are essential: Protecting your eyes from UV rays is important too. Look for sunglasses that block UVA and UVB rays.
Sun-protective clothing: Lightweight, long-sleeved shirts and pants can be a good option, especially for long days outdoors. Look for clothes with a UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) rating.
