One of the biggest ones for me is the idea that it's all in my head. Trust me, if I could just think my way out of this, I would! I think it's easy for people to forget that chronic conditions are physical conditions, even if the symptoms aren't always visible.
Another one that gets under my skin is the whole "tough it out" mentality. Chronic conditions can be debilitating, and pushing myself too hard can actually make things worse. I've learned to listen to my body and pace myself, which isn't always easy to explain to people who don't quite understand.
