I received the first dose of the covid-19 vaccine two weeks ago. I was able to get it early because I'm a community Response Team Member CERT and we are helping our community have a vaccine clinic. So we all had to be vaccinated prior to this assignment. I get my second dose on the 8th of February. The only side effect was my arm 2 days after the shot got warm a little sore but I put an ice pack on the injection site and it felt better. Glad to be protected. My job is to put pins on clipboards so that they can go out to the cars for people to sign the consent for the in jection. Yes it's a kind of boring job but knowing that we are helping our community makes it all worthwhile. We are coordinated with the fire department and with the local Jamestown s'klallam tribe who are able to get the vaccine for our area. We've been vaccinating 600 plus people each day that weird are open. We vaccinate Tuesday Thursday and Saturdays. And we have 3 teams that rotate every three weeks so you only work one 3 days a week every 3 weeks.

I have to get it to be able to go back to my art classes. I was going 3 days a week. Doing art is the only sanity I have. I have asthma and copd. I am also over weight. Yesterday I could only do 10 minutes of cleaning. I couldn't breathe. All I did was sweep up the kitchen and the dirt is still on the floor. I have a very small kitchen too.

Many of my cousins are in the medical field and have had no problems with the vaccine. I think I will take it as soon as I can

I'm waiting to see how my mom and dad react to the 2nd shot. My dad has cancer and they had to get vaccine. I heard the 2nd shot was worse. I'm hoping dad has no bad reaction. They are in their 80s. Has anyone had the 2nd shot?

Since the start of the virus- that is back in March of 2020 my wife and I have not gone out very much. We even had to stop going to our church on Sunday because once they were in the building everyone would take off their masks. Every week or two we get and email to pray for members that have come done with the virus. No telling if they got it at church. We have been forced to watch the services online.
I have shopped online and also at the special 6:00A.M Walmart shopping times. Very few people there and every last one of them are wearing masks. Yes I do live in a small city. After making almost all the way through the year, my wife and I had to go to California on some family business. We only had contact with 7 family members. Yet 5 days after getting to California both my wife and I started showing signs of the virus. Constant Runny Nose, Congestion, and a cough. Since we were staying on top of a mountain, with very limited contact with people we where concerned that we might have gotten it on the flight. But we finally were told that one of the nephews had spent the weekend we had arrived at a party, and later tested positive. Got to add, while out of state my medical insurance would not be active.
We were supposed to fly home the next Tuesday, and we were showing a slight temperature. 100. We decided we where going to drive home. 4 days of driving . I had started feeling decent the day before we started the drive. We wore our masks every time we got out of the car.
Now after we got home, I decided I should at least talk to my doctor. I had be go to the after hours clinic, where I tested positive for Covid-19. Dr said I should quarantine for 5 more days.
Now that I am all better, I have heard that someone died within 48 hours of taking the vaccine. They found that the person had just gotten over a bout with the virus.
Because of this unless I can find out other wise my wife and I are going to wait 45 days and then get the vaccine. Now our reasoning for this is we have been told by the doctor that we should not be able to get the virus again for at least 90 days. So we do want to get the vaccine while somewhat safe from catching this virus again.

Well its definitely been challenging trying not to get sick, because if I do thats a whole hospital trip I just don't got time for and scared as hell. When I get body aches or terrible non-walking muscle spams I get really sick and there nothing in body that I haven't already let up srry... Lol, but I was recently sick about 3 weeks ago and MANN LET ME TELL YOU. I couldn't really breathe, like sorta gasping for air all for like two days and that last night my body took over. I'm guessing I was half sleep half awake my mother busted in my rooms pulls me up like OMG ARE U OK!!!! I heard you gasping for air it scared me. I was so scared I cried didn't wanna sleep the whole nine. Long story short woke up found a place got a Covid-19 test and I WAS ALL GOOD. But my coughing breathing, they thought pneumonia, but I was all good thanl the Lord who like I said always got me. Its just when I get sick my body fights its like an infection the dr said so its gonna happen ever time I get sick. Sucks, but now im on an inhaler and can breath ao much better now.

I'll get the vaccine when it's a single dose oral or intranasal vaccine that's made from either killed or modified live version of the virus.
I won't do MRNA vaccines, I won't do multiple dose, and I won't do injectibles.

Hello everyone,
How are you today?
The pharmaceutical groups Pfizer (USA) and BioNTech (Germany), as well as Moderna (USA), announced last month that their vaccine candidates are around 94 and 95% "effective" in preventing COVID-19 infections, according to preliminary results of their large-scale phase 3 trials, which are still ongoing.
Earlier this week, the White House Coronavirus Task Force was in discussion about the FDA approval (slated for December 10th at the earliest), with rumors of a vaccine launch as early as the week of December 14th!
What do you think about this? Would you be interested in getting vaccinated against COVID-19 once the vaccine is available?
Feel free to discuss and share in the comments below!
Take care,
Courtney
