@AS1218 Hello AS1218, thank you for starting this discussion. I'm sorry you're going through that! Let me tag some members who can maybe share their experience with this.
Hi everyone, how are you today? Have you ever noticed how stressful situations affect your AS? How you experienced more pain after feeling stressed or do you think it could be something else? How do you handle this additional pain? Feel free to share your thoughts and experiences here!

I never noticed an increase in pain. But it makes me think that since the corona virus lock down I have experienced so much more pain that I cannot get under control. I am curious to know if other have had additional pain. I am a medical Marijuana patient, so that has helped somewhat. But I have to be responsible and you can't take these meds if you are driving or daily living. So mostly I take before bed time.

@AS1218 @Jillybug I've definitely noticed that my stiffness and pain is worse when I'm stressed. I've heard that stress and upset can make your hormone levels go haywire and then that can trigger inflammation. Medical marijuana isn't legal in my state so I try to self-care and handle it in other ways. It's not always easy though.

I can understand too much stress too. My husband has pancreatic cancer and is currently being treated with Chemotherapy. I wondered for myself am I noticing more symptoms while under stress or has it always been there and I am just noticing because I am cranky and not feeling good. Stress does not help at all for sure.
I also have a prescription of Tramadol and when I take it I take 2. I do not mix medical marijuana and Tramadol. Now this medication that every doctor I've been to had tried to get me to take it. It is considered to be an opiod now. I would love to be free of all prescription drugs.
God Bless and Good Luck,
Jill

I have a question that I've been wanting to get some opinions on since I've noticed this happening me. Have any of you noticed that being over-stressed with family or work problems make you pain levels much worse? It could be an argument with family or a friend, or in my case I an argument with someone at work.
I don't know if it's just that I'm sensitive as a person or if it's truly my AS. I got in an argument yesterday happened yesterday and today I can hardly move as there seems to be pain everywhere.
Has anyone else found this to happen while under a lot of stress? Am I alone in this?
