@Marielilly Hello Marielilly, thank you for opening this discussion. I've moved it to our depression group for more visibility.
Hello everyone, how are you doing today? How have your loved ones reacted to your depression? Are they accepting and supportive? Or are they in denial of it? What have you done to get the support and understanding from them that you need? Do you have any advice for Marielilly?

@Marielilly Hey, it sounds like you really need to have a talk to him about what depression is. Depression is a mental condition caused by chemical inbalance in the brain. It's not a personality flaw. You can't just turn it on or off, it's more complicated than that. It sounds like he really doesn't understand what depression is and how it works. I hope he'll listen!

If they cant respect you and respect your condition then they dont deserve to be with you. Like the old saying goes if you can handle me at my worst you dont deserve me at my best. I guarantee you point out one of his flaws he would freak out?? That's what mine did until I basically slapped the information into his skull.
*did not hit him*
But make sure you support yourself and are standing up for yourself
