For many, many years I experienced the horrible burning in my legs & feet while employed as a nurse!! My husband would place cold compresses with ice on my feet!!! Later I finally asked my neurologist & he prescribed cymbalta which helped tremendously!!!! I have been retired early on disability many years & no longer experience the severe burning!!!

Hello everyone!
How's it going with you today? 😊
Many people with multiple sclerosis (MS) experience sudden, sharp nerve pains, often called “zingers” or “stingers.” ⚡
These sensations—ranging from burning, stabbing, or prickly feelings to electric shocks—can appear without warning. Known medically as dysesthesia, these painful sensations are caused by nerve damage linked to MS and typically affect areas like the legs, feet, arms, and hands. For some, even temperature changes (warm or cold) can trigger these zaps, which usually last seconds to minutes.
Do you experience these sudden MS zingers? How do you manage them? Have you noticed any specific triggers?
